Pastor Deric begins our Christmas series “Come Together for Christmas” with a sermon entitled “Repeat The Sounding Joy!” from Matthew 1:18-25

Ice Breaker: Have you ever been truly amazed? Can you find words to describe that feeling of utter amazement?
 
Spend a minute or two to consider some of the most amazing things you’ve experienced, and how those experiences might even be linked.
 
1. Why is it vital to believe in the virgin birth as an important part of the Christmas story? (v.18)

2. What is it about Mary and Joseph that makes them suitable for the role God gave them? (vv.20-21)

3. Why is the angel’s reference to Joseph’s lineage in verse 20 an important part of the Christmas story?

4. What is the connection with the name of Jesus and His work as the Saviour of the world? (v.21) (see Hebrews 4:25)

5. What does “Immanuel” mean and why is it personally important to you? (v.23) (see Isaiah 7:14)

6. What more do you learn about Joseph through his response to what the angel told him in his dream?
