Sermon Notes

This week Pastor Deric continues our fall series Jesus is LORD OF ALL with a sermon entitled “Grow Time”

Questions:
Icebreaker: If you were any kitchen appliance, which one would you be and why?

1. What importance does the Bible place on regular fellowship with other believers?
2. Who supplies the growth to the body, and how does growth take place through fellowship with other believers?
3. The New Testament has over 50 “one another” verses which admonish us how to treat each other living in community (i.e. “… Honour one another above yourselves.” – Rom. 12:10). Find 5 other “one another” verses that you think are especially important.
4. List 3 ways participating in a small group creates conditions for growth.
5. What other things can you do throughout the week to live more in community with other Christians?
6. What did you find helpful or challenging about the message?

“We should not…think of our fellowship with other Christians as a spiritual luxury, an optional addition to the exercises of private devotion. We should recognize rather that such fellowship is a spiritual necessity, for God has made us in such a way that our fellowship with himself is fed by our fellowship with fellow Christians, and requires to be so fed constantly for its own deepening and enrichment.” – J.I. Packer
