Sermon Notes

This week Pastor Greg shares a message from 2 Timothy 3:16-4:8 entitled “Always Ready.”
?2 Timothy 3:16-4:8?
Ice Breaker: In sports and other games, deception is often an integral part of the plan. It’s part of the challenge and sometimes great fun to see who can do the best job. In real life however, deception can be hurtful and cause great pain.
What can you do, to do your best to avoid being deceived?
1. Why should we have great confidence in the power and validity of the Scriptures? (3:16-17)
2. How can we maintain a positive, enduring, continually maturing life in Christ?
3. Paul says we are to be prepared to preach God’s Word at all times. (4:1-2) When are you most likely to hesitate in sharing the Gospel? How could you prepare beforehand to overcome your timidity or fear in these situations? (see 1 Peter 3:15)
4. How are we to know whether or not the doctrines we are being taught are accurate or true? (vv. 2-3) (see also 2:15)
5. What does this passage tell us about the life of a disciple? What would that life look like? (vv. 5-7)
