DRIVE-THRU FOOD DRIVE :: JUNE 7th, 2020 from 1-3pm

We are excited to announce City Centre’s first Drive-Thru Food Drive is scheduled for Sunday, June 7th, 2020 from 1-3 pm. Come and wave to your Ministry Staff and drop off a non-perishable food item to help us bless our community.  In support of our local partners, Eden Food for Change, the most needed food items include: canned meat, canned fruits, canned sauce and chunky soups.

PEEL REGION HEALTH HAVE REQUESTED THAT WE FOLLOW SOME RULES:

BEFORE YOU ARRIVE, please package your food items into bags or boxes that you alone can lift and pass through your car’s open window onto a table. You are not allowed to exit your car and our staff are not allowed to approach/touch your vehicle. Peel Public Health has insisted that we collect donations in this manner in order to maintain personal distancing.

In addition to these “packaging” guidelines, Peel Public Health asked us to remind everyone that:
  • People must remain in their cars
  • Staff are not allowed to approach/touch your vehicle
  • People may NOT go in the building

Our Pastors and their wives will be in our parking lot to greet you. Please enter the parking lot off of Fallingbrook Drive, as the Eglinton Avenue West entrance will remain closed and WILL NOT BE ACCESSIBLE on Sunday.

We look forward to seeing your smiling faces on June 7th!

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD :: Thanksgiving to mid-November

Operation Christmas Child is a hands-on project that brings joy and hope to children in desperate situations around the world through gift-filled shoeboxes packed by Canadians. It is one way to remind children suffering as a result of war, poverty, famine, disease, and disaster that they are loved and not forgotten.

Boys and girls receive shoebox gifts  and this connection provides other opportunities for follow-up discipleship programs, where they learn to follow Christ and share Him with others.

Consider putting together a box for a little girl or boy this Christmas!

GIFT MOUNTAIN :: mid-November to mid-December

Every year The Open Door hosts a Christmas dinner for over 200 people. The Christmas story is told to many for the first time, and everyone leaves with a GIFT! For many at the dinner, this will be the only gift that they will receive this year.

The Open Door often finds it difficult to obtain appropriate or needed gifts for teens and adults. Gift cards help fill the gap(s) and allows each individual to purchase the exact item(s) they need or desire. Your gift enables people with the rare luxury of choosing between treating themselves or providing for their basic necessities.

Please consider donating a Gift Card to GIFT MOUNTAIN.

GIFT CARD suggestions: Clothing, Coffee Shops/Cafes, Department Stores, Entertainment, Fast food, Grocery Stores, Restaurants and Specialty Stores.

Return all gift bags to City Centre by Sun Dec 15 to be delivered to The Open Door for their Christmas banquet.

Help us keep those in need in Mississauga warmly clothed this winter! Thank you for your generosity.
