Thank you for praying for us as we are in Medellin, Colombia from July 28 to Aug 8! Also while we are away you can get daily updates here on our GO Team Blog! Check back each day.

Day 1:

The GO Team has arrived in Colombia in the beautiful city of Medellin!

After training and preparing as a team for 9 months, we are finally here. The whole team is so thrilled to have this opportunity to serve our brothers and sisters with the Redil churches! Today we flew by way of Miami and arrived a couple hours late but we’re blessed with lots of bonding time and prayer in the airport as we waited on a delayed flight in Miami. Tonight we are staying in groups of twos with our host families, who all members of the Redil churches and who are kindly welcoming us into their homes for the next 11 days.

The Lord brought Paul’s prayer in Colossians 1:9-14 to mind this morning to meditate on for the mission ahead of us.

“From the day we heard, we have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so as to walk in a manner WORTHY of the Lord, fully pleasing to him, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God.

May you be strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy, giving thanks to the Father, who has QUALIFIED you to share in the inheritance of the saints in light. He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

Although we can often dwell on our own insecurities, fears, and anxieties, Paul teaches us that whomever God calls into the Kingdom of his Son he has also qualified for his service, not on our own merits but on his Son’s. The fact is we are in ourselves inadequate to the task, but God has supplied us with his Holy Spirit to equip us and strengthen us for anything ahead he has prepared for us. I am also reminded that we as team do not embark on this mission alone. There are many who are holding us up in prayer and whose hearts we carry with us! What a wonderful Saviour who reconciles peoples of all nations and equips those he sends!
