SOUND OPERATOR

Role
The Sound Operator plays an important role because “faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the Word of Christ” (Rom 10:17).  They are responsible to set up and operate/supervise all of the audio-visual needs of any given worship service.  The biggest portion of this task is balancing all of the audio sources involved in the service – from the pastor’s microphone to the instruments and worship singers, guest and special elements.  They must ensure that leaders and speakers can be heard properly and that worship is enhanced by the sound reinforcement, not inhibited.  Qualifications include a love of music, some technical knowledge and strong concentration and awareness skills.
