God’s Difference Maker

This week our guest Dr. Stewart Brown taught us from Psalm 90 with a sermon entitled ”God’s Difference Maker”

Ice Breaker: What is your favourite TV show and why?
 
1. All sin is serious and has grave consequences. Find 3 references from the New Testament that solemnly warn against sin.
2. The effects of sin not only negatively impact our own lives but also impact the people in our lives. Find 3 stories from the Old Testament that illustrate this.
3. Psalm 90:4 illustrates God’s eternal nature with a unique comparison – find the same comparison in the New Testament
4. The brevity of man’s life is often illustrated with comparisons to “grass” and “shadows” (i.e. Psalm 90:5-6). Find three other examples from the Old Testament. What implications does this have on how we live our lives?
5. In 1 Corinthians 9:24-27 Paul highlights the importance of self-discipline. What is the reward of self-discipline in the Christian life? What might the outcome be if we fail to exercise it?
6. What do you need to do more of in your life to become a bigger difference-maker for Christ?
7. What did you find helpful or challenging about the message?
